Our management team and staff of professional engineers, materials specialists, laboratory technicians and construction inspectors is supported by a full laboratory facility located with our offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Our goal is to help our clients achieve professional, objective engineering and testing solutions to construction problems and assure independent, effective quality control during the construction or repair of new and renovated buildings and facilities.

Our architects, professional engineers, materials specialists, quality control inspectors, laboratory technicians, and supporting personnel have achieved and maintained The Thompson & Lichtner Co., Inc.'s long-term success in the fields of engineering and testing. Our engineering staff includes individuals with education and experience in civil engineering, mechanical engineering and materials science. Some members of our quality control inspection and testing staff have been with us for over twenty years and many have had years of related work experience. All of our staff place strong emphasis on a testing approach to analysis and problem solving, which has distinguished our firm since its beginning over one hundred years ago.

Our laboratory is also equipped with a Tinius Olsen Universal Testing Machine which performs tension and bending tests to 400,000 lbs. and has a soil test capacity of 250,000 lbs.
