Professional Experience
Evan Karalolos is Vice President in charge of laboratory testing and field inspections. He joined T&L in 1980 as a field engineer following his graduation from Northeastern University. He was promoted to Project Manager in 1985 and became Laboratory Director in 1998.
Mr. Karalolos has thirty years of experience in most areas of the firm's inspection and testing services on projects involving both new construction and expansion and renovation of existing buildings. He is responsible for the overall performance and operation of the firm's testing laboratory and staff of construction inspectors. He has designed, reviewed, and conducted tests of concrete mixes for various projects and for ready-mix concrete suppliers in our laboratory over the years. He oversees all laboratory testing and reviews all test results prior to their submittal to our clients.

Mr. Karalolos has conducted various ASTM tests on several new and existing commercial products for the determination of their physical characteristics for inclusion in their product literature. He has participated in many condition surveys of old structures and has performed load testing of piles, floor slabs, anchor bolts, hoists, and curtainwall attachments. He has also conducted inspections of concrete plants, precast plants, asphalt plants, and structural steel plants, and reviewed their quality control programs in the US and Canada.

Mr. Karalolos has been responsible for investigations into many material failures requiring both laboratory and field work, including concrete floors, sidewalks, and parking garages, and has provided reports of his conclusions and recommended repair procedures.

Mr. Karalolos has given expert testimony in various depositions, and court appearances concerning investigations conducted under his direction. In addition, Mr. Karalolos is the Newsletter Editor of N.E. ACI and has given lectures on concrete testing at meetings of the N.E. Chapter of ACI.
