Professional Experience
Michael Vielmetti joined the staff of The Thompson & Lichtner Co., Inc. in 1973 following his graduation from Southeastern Massachusetts University. He has over 30 years of experience in most areas of T & L's construction inspection and testing services, and has participated in many staff investigations of construction materials deficiencies and failures.
In the past 27 years, Mr. Vielmetti's services have concentrated on issues related to weatherproofing of new and renovated building construction. He has been responsible for testing and evaluation of numerous water leakage problems in building construction, including masonry walls, windows, curtainwalls, sealants, and roofing. He has conducted specialized pressure tests of installed window systems to evaluate resistance to air and water penetration. He has prepared specifications for the repair of water leakage problems in both new and restored structures.
In addition to his weatherproofing services, Mr. Vielmetti has performed numerous evaluations of building facades to determine the condition of the building and prepare recommendations/specifications for repairs. He also performs consulting and design review services relating to the weatherproofing of building envelopes in new and existing buildings.
Mr. Vielmetti coordinates and supervises all weatherproofing and facade restoration services.
