Thompson & Lichtner History

The Thompson & Lichtner Co., Inc. has enjoyed a reputation for excellence and quality of service since the formation of the original partnership of Sanford E. Thompson and Frederick W. Taylor in 1896.

We have a diverse client base which includes financial institutions, insurance companies, real estate firms, attorneys, architects, engineers, building contractors, manufacturers, government agencies, schools, colleges and other commercial and industrial organizations of all sizes.

Originally with offices in New York City and Boston, over their many years of continuous operation The Thompson & Lichtner Co. has also had temporary offices in Spain, Morocco, and Chicago. In 2013 their offices and laboratory facilities moved from Cambridge, Massachusetts to their current Canton location. While the company’s original focus was Industrial Management and Construction Materials Testing, today their focus is Civil Engineering, primarily the Building Enclosure field, while continuing their Construction Materials Testing Laboratory.
