As a Construction Materials Testing Technician you will be conducting tests on historic, current, and future/in-progress commercial buildings, and testing material samples for strength and other properties in our 5,000 sq. ft. lab. Join us as a Tech II (no prior experience necessary – we will train), or Tech I (certification and experience necessary).

Requirements for Construction Materials Testing Tech II (training provided) and Tech I:

  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • High School degree or equivalent minimum.
  • Construction background a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean record and reliable transportation.
  • Must have the ability to lift 75 lbs., walk/work on uneven surfaces, work outside in various weather conditions and from heights.
  • Must be willing to wear attire appropriate with safety regulations. Work boots necessary as per ANSI Z-41; Hard hat, safety vest, and safety glasses are provided.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Must be interested in learning and training.
  • Must be able to pass an iCori background test and drug tests.
  • Must have OSHA-10 safety certification (training provided for Tech II, if necessary)
  • Must have general computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel).
  • Must be able to work independently, be punctual and reliable.
  • Must be a team player and work well with others.
  • Must have good communication skills (listening, speaking, writing).
  • Must be able to keep detailed field notes and record data accurately.
  • Must be able to provide occasional weekend availability and accommodate flexible work hours when necessary. Overtime potential.

Additional requirements for Construction Materials Testing Tech I:

  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Grade 1 certification
  • Other related Construction Materials Testing certifications (optional)
  • Solid knowledge of the principles and terminology in the Construction Inspection Industry
  • Prior work experience in the Construction Inspection Industry (with references)
  • Must be able to read plans and specifications.

Compensation: Dependent upon qualifications and experience.

General Schedule: Monday – Friday, day hours

Job Type: Full-time year round or seasonal (May – November)
