Water.

That one word means many different things to many people, but it’s definitely a force to deal with when it’s an uninvited “guest” in the form of leaks.

The Thompson & Lichtner Co. has been testing building membranes of all types (flat, low-sloped, vertical, horizontal, roofs, plaza decks, courtyards, balconies, elevated sidewalks and pools, high-rise buildings, commercial, industrial, government, etc.) for well over a decade now, but black EPDM membranes were always the elusive exception.

Not anymore.

The IntegriScan unit (meets FM Approval 7745, ASTM Standard Guide D7877 and Standard Practice D8231) is now part of our Electronic Leak Testing equipment, giving us the capability to test black EPDM and semi-conductive cold applied membranes. Combined with our Low Voltage Electronic Leak Testing (LV-ELT) and High Voltage Electronic Leak Testing (HV-ELT) services, Thompson & Lichtner now offers the most accurate and comprehensive leak tests for practically any type of membrane utilized today in construction.

As those who have received our services before know, each of our ELT services uses non-destructive methods to pinpoint breaches in membranes by tracing the flow of an electric current across waterproof surfaces and membranes. We also use 9-strand (not thinner six-strand) stainless steel polywire in the Low Voltage Electronic Leak testing process to ensure the most accurate testing results. In addition, we have the ability to test membrane seams, providing the most comprehensive service.

Water leaks beware.
